    dial in router by me

ok i plan to do the following.

add a serial port to my router
    add custom (compiled) firmware
use my router to dial up the internet and route to my network

now i know noone cares about dialup but just humor me please

i have contacted someone who knows about the serial port mod and sells kits.
he has informed me that i will need to recompile my routers firmware so that it includes the "chat" module which is great.
i have recompiled a few linux kernels so i am not a stranger to compiling.

now what i do not know is how to get the source for some good easy to use firmware.
i would like to use some that has a web configuration utility. just to save me some time.

now i know that sveasoft has a web based config. but i dont think that they release source code...
which brings me to my real question

what firmware includes web configuration and source code that i can compile chat.
or can i install chat to an already working firmare build.???

i dont know if this will work but i would love it to. it would be so much simpler to have this setup instead of my current setup
