Did anyone install a USB-port on his WRT54G v.2.0?

I somewhere read, that the hardware is capable of supporting USB. Did anyone mod his router by adding USB to it? I'd like it to serve as an independent fileserver, possibly with a flash "drive" serving via USB... - just dreaming ...
    Thanks for your answers,

What would a serial port allow you to do with the WRTs?

you could in theory use a serial modem to route dialup or have serial devices such as a thermometer in a remot location and then have access to it over the wire (or wireless) to get data.
and you can have a hyperterminal fr administration (securer than internet or whatever) if yourparanoid
