I have a copy of Satori, and it has been working just fine. My question is what is the difference beween gatewaying and routing on WRT45GS.

I am connected via PPPOE, and have a dynamic IP address. When I switched to routing, I was not able to access the web interface. Based on the above ISP configuaration, it there any benefit to placing the dervice in router mode?

if you WRT54G is connected to your Modem the you use Gateway. this means all connections from you lan use the WRT54G as a Gateway to the internet.

Gateway, if the Router is hosting your network’s connection to the Internet (Gateway mode is recommended for most users).

Select Router if the Router exists on a network with other routers to router networks to the main gateway to the internet.

yours should be set to gateway afaik.
