I've searched a bit, but it is hard when you don't know what to search for...not sure what this is called. I just upgraded to the DIR-655. I have three Buffalo routers, each now has Tomato Firmware. Two are setup as "Wireless Ethernet Bridges" to give my ReplayTVs network and internet access. Even with the N router, I have weak or dead spots in the house. It could be because of an old/weak PC Card in the laptop. Is there a way to use the third Buffalo/Tomato router as a range extender (or even the two that are WEBs)? I have tried a few things, but each seems to "mess up" the laptop connection (limited connectivity). I'm not sure I understand the various Tomato Wireless Modes. Thanks.
1. Use WDS mode (not sure if the DIR-655 supports this sry >_<) 2. install dd-wrt and run it in repeater mode
Thanks for the idea. I reflashed to DD-wrt and managed (finally) to get what I wanted. Seems I still could not put the repeater where I wanted (I guess it was too far away) but managed to get it closer and that did the trick!
