Do local packets stay on bridge?

We have a webcam connected to NAS (network-attached storage) with a cable so that it can write images to the NAS. I'd like to plug both of these into a WRT54G running in client bridge mode, and have the bridge connect via wifi to a primary wireless router a couple of hundred feet away. This would allow me to occasionally check on the camera and the NAS. If I do this, will traffic between the webcam and the NAS stay confined to the bridge? Or will the packets have to travel to the primary router and back? I need to have maximum bandwidth between the webcam and the NAS so that we can record at high resolution & frame rate.

    Thanks.
