    My 10 day old WRT54G router is loosing the internet connection every 2-3 days. I could ping the router. When I ping yahoo.com, I get the following message, "ping request could not find host yahoo.com. Please check the name and try again." Must reset modem > router. Clone MAC address is set. DHCP is set to "automatic". Using Wide Open West Cable. If I have certain services "disabled" (A.K.A. Black Viper's site) will this keep the router from communicating with the computer that is wired to the router, causing my problem?
    Thank you.

    I have Wide Open West, and occasionally their DNS Servers seem to go down.

    next time your connection goes dows, see if you can ping ip 4.2.2.2 or 4.2.2.3 These are DNS Servers run by Verizon, IIRC. but they are easy to remember IP's to ping if DNS ever goes down.

    If you have multiple logons on your wireless PC, you might want to consider the following registry change which worked well for me:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\EAPOL\Parameters\General\Global]
    "AuthMode"=dword:00000002 :lol:
