I am not really sure what I am trying to do is called a bridge, but i will explain.

Cable modem goes into the uplink for the WRTGS V4.70.6 and works as a gateway. 3 laptops and 2 desktop running wireless. I have 4 test computers and a server I need to get online but do not have wireless adapters. I do not want to/not possible to drop cables between the two lvls of the house. I tried to drop cables (I know how to drop cables, my house is to hard and wife does not want cables laying all over the place)

yesterday my brother gave me a WRT54GS V.3.37.6 since he upgraded to CISCO routers. So what I would like to do is put the second router upstairs and use that router to grab the wireless single from the router downstairs and the two networks share the internet connection. And Use Lan ports to attach the server and 3 other desktops to that router. Is this possible with these 2 routers if not, what i can do to make this work.

Linksys stock firmware doesn't provide this feature. A third-party firmware will need to be installed to your client router.

Consider Thibor 15c (which remains pretty close to the original firmware code)

    or DD-WRT.

Please search the pages/forums/wikis before asking configuration questions. It's all there.
And don't forget to donate to either project if you find the firmware useful!

Thanks Guys! I tried out both third party firmware. I like the DD-WRT. I got what i was trying to do work! I am still trying to get security setup for wireless but otherwise it works. I may go out and get another router just so i can set up on my DVR downstairs...lol
