does XP support access to the WAP54g via Serial cable?

I bricked my brand new WAP54g 3.1 recently trying to flash the firmware via web console. I have tried several recommended techniques but have not been able to recover it. I am not pursuing the Serial cable option.

I found instructions on how to build a Serial cable for the WAP 54G here

    Max233 Adapter (AD233BK w/ CTS/RTS pinouts)
    Connectors purchased from http://www.futurlec.com:
    10 pin PCB Header – IDCMH10
    10 pin Header Connector – IDCC10
    Multiribbon Cable – HDCONNS6
    RS232 Male Connector – DSUBSCM9

The parts should be here any day and construction will only be a few minutes. My question is how do I interface with the WAP once I have the cable plugged in? Does XP have a program I can use to reflash?
