I'm trying to setup an extra office network across a courtyard and was wondering rather than getting a second broadband connecting in that office, if I could just add an WRT54G (w/ satori) in that office and then connect to the house's network.

The setup would be like this....

    www----dlink g604 .. .. (~12m) .. .. WRT54G---- desktop computer

Would all I need to is setup the WRT54G as client or will it also involve WDS?

Thanks for any pointers you can throw my way

Sure, the WRT54G in client mode should work fine in this setup. But be aware that there is a limitation in Satori, that allows only one computer being connected to the Ethernet side of the router when running in client mode. This has been fixed in Alchemy (but currently wireless enryption is broken for client mode in alchemy).
You might be able to circumvent the 1 client limitation for Satori by connecting a switch to the router and acitvating proxy_arp.

    echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/br0/proxy_arp

Cool - thanks for the help mate :)
I've got a sveasoft subscription so may fiddle about with Alchemy but since it's not for me, I'd rather have the most stable option possible :)
