E1000 & Samsung Kies Disconnect Issues

    I am trying to update my Android smartphone firmware using Samsung's Kies ("mini"). I have installed Kies onto my Win 7 desktop and the program has updated itself. When I connect the USB cable to the phone the update process begins normally but within a minute or so I always lose my wireless connection. I can only restore it by unplugging the AE1000 adapter from its base and then plugging it into an open USB port.

    I saw on the Cisco Home Community site where there is a firmware update for the E1000 (link) but I don't know if this will solve the problem. Also, how can I tell which hardware version I have - - my serial number is CVN01K692063 if that helps. Edit: Looks like my version is 1.3.11006.1
