My EFG120 NAS went down last week. I took both Disk 1 and Disk 2 out and physically added them to a windowsXP machine. I have tried many ways just to be able to get the data off of the drives. No luck at all. This must have to do with the way the EFG120 NAS formated.

Is there something that can be done just to be able to get the data off of the drives?

I have to admit I'm not familiar with the EFG120, but The Google tells me it runs Linux and formats the hard disks using the XFS file system. That means if you have (access to) a computer that runs Linux, you should be able to access the data on the hard disks (unless the disks are what's broken of course).

You can also get a Live Linux CD (that hopefully supports XFS and NTFS) and try it that way.
