    Hello,
I have ssh access to my tomato 1.25 router and I'd like to enable the web interface.

    Is that possible?
    Regards

You could also just use an ssh tunnel to access the GUI. Then you never have to expose the web interface to the WAN. This is how I access the GUI remotely, and it is more secure than accessing the GUI directly. Plus, you don't have to change any configuration on the router.

Let me echo SgtPepperKSU. What you're doing is extremely unsafe. For a short period of time, you're leaving your Router open to the world. And trust me, you're router is constantly being probed by the bad guys out there.

Make a tunnel using SSH. Or use SgtPepperKSU's excellent implementation of Tomato with OpenVPN. Either of these allows you to access the Web interface in a safe manner.

(I do hope that for ssh, you either have a very good password or you use the public key encryption.)

OK, this is definitely better, I agree. Tried it - and it works.

    Thank you very much!
