This is an old device which I picked up used to connect a Cannon printer to my network. The setup for this device is strange but I got it working.

It has been crashing about once a day since. I moved it over to my UPS so the power would be as clean as possible but it still crashed.

After a month or two of this I decided to install a X10 appliance controller in front of the print server that way I could just hit a button to turn it off and another to turn it back on.

After installing the X10 module in line with the print server, it has not crashed again. It has been working for about a month with NO crashes.

My best guess is that these boxes are very sensitive to some type of line noise which the capacitors in the X10 module filter out.

I have done some searching on the internet and did not find any reference to this problem but I doubt I am the only one having a problem.
