Any thoughts on replacing a WUSB54GS with a linksys ethernet bridge? (WET54g or WET54gsv5) Any idea about the pro's and cons? I have an ethernet port on the computer that needs to be connected. The WUSB54gs is giving me lots of headaches, especially with dropped connections and application errors in shutdown.

I have a wrt54gs hooked up to the cable modem and a wireless range expander (wre54g)

as far as speed goes, you shouldnt notice much if any difference. some benefits might be u could hook that port up to a switch for multiple connections or free up a USB port that you may or may not need.

I replaced a WUSB54G with a SMC 2870W bridge and it's faster and easy to manage. The radio on the bridge gets much better reception, which gave me faster speeds. I started withe SMC bridges for my Tivo's and they worked so well, I put one on machine that was getting awful wireless reception. The problems went away as soon as I added the bridge.
