I need to extend my network from 4 ports to 6 or more ports keeping a DHCP function.

I currently use a WRT54GS on which I don't use the wireless function. My applications are quite basic (put computers in a network, share an internet connection, need the DHPC function)
    Therefore, I see 2 solutions :
    1) Acquire a BEFSR81
    2) Add a switch on my WRT54GS

Could you help to define which solution is best ? Currently, I was more looking to acquire a BEFSR81 but I wonder if it is a good piece of equipment and also, it seems to be quite old. So is there any other solution out there ?

    Thanks in advance.

Well, either option would work. It depends on what your plans are for future expansion. If you expect to add even more hosts in the future or will need the wireless, add a switch. You could get an EZXS16W and have a lot of room for expansion, or you could get a EZXS55W and just add a few ports for half the price. Adding the EZXS55W or buying the BEFSR81 and selling the WRT54GS would probably end up costing about the same.

Personally I would add the switch because I like switches and I like wireless.
