Im getting very high ping times to my local modem, 1 hop away from my router, around 3000ms or time out, whenever I run utorrent. Changing my upload limits does nothing. Even at 1Kbps it still has really high ping times. Anyone else have this problem or have a solution? Once I exit utorrent, ping times drop to around 2-3ms.

my router is WRT54GL running tomato 1.28. Using QoS to set the bandwidth limits.
My modem is a Motorola Wimax cpei 150.

A couple of questions. On which device is the torrent client? From which device are you pinging the modem? If it's from a LAN device and not the router, is it a wireless or wired device?

Try to reduce the number of concurrent connections the torrent client is using.
