    dear all,

    how can I setup fail-over gateway on WRT54G/tomato

    I need someone with better linux knowledge then mine

    here is my setup:

    dsl--->wan port of WRT54G ---> | LAN 1----> computer
    | LAN 2----> cable modem router

    here is how to do that on linux, but how can I do that with WRT54G?

    I have tried on my win xp pro computer to setup default gateways with different metrics, but xp doesn't have good fail-over mechanism, it is very slow, not reliable, I have searched trough google a lot regarding this issue, but without much luck

    I have not used all 3rd party firmware so i dont know if any gives you the ability to make one of your lan ports another wan port. So keeping that in mind, can this be done, yes, but it is a 3 router configuration. And if you search this forum there has been several strings on this very topic.

    I don't need LAN port to become WAN port, I just need some way to "tell busybox" in case of main gateway goes down, fail-over to gateway IP

    it can be done with linux, but I am not penguin enough to port/adopt that script from standalone linux distro to wrt54(busybox)
