FCC test reports

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by ChimericalAli, Aug 2, 2006.

  1. I'm working on a 4km point to point link, so I need fairly detailed Rx sensitivity specs. In what it laughingly calls a specification sheet, Linksys frequently declines to provide this information. And Linksys is not the only offender.

I understand that to obtain FCC approval, each manufacturer must provide these data (and a lot more besides). In a recent product review, you actually gave the URL of where these files reside:
    https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/...00&application_id=305805&fcc_id='Q87-WRT54GC'
(I hope that horrendous URL hasn't broken anything)

Looking at that page, I don't see how to access the individual files so tantalisingly listed. What's the secret, guys? Is there any hope for Joseph Q Public?
    Any pointers much appreciated.

ALL vendors are hiding info from each other. not joe public... if they release tech specs, then another vendor will try and beat the 1st one to release a better unit.

    it is called competition.
