Warning: Newbie Questions I'm just getting started with hacking the WRT54G and want to start with the stable version of EWRT (0.2) and have a few questions. I've searched for answers over the last several days, but not finding them hope that members of this forum can help. The EWRT instructions require obtaining the 2.02.07 source. That source is no longer available at Linksys.com Within the last week their web site appears to have changed. Does anyone know a repository of the Linksys source tarballs? Will 2.02.02 work with EWRT 0.2 instead of 2.02.07? I want to be able to revert back to the 2.04.4 firmware currently in my WRT54G V2 box. That firrmware load isn't available on the site. Only 4.00.7 appears to be available for the WRT54G boxes. Is there a method to "offload" and save the content of the flash for later reloading or is there a non-Linksys repository of previous Linksys official firmware loads? I have not built a JTAG cable to interface with the WRT54G yet. It's been 5 months since the EWRT 0.3 beta was bundled together and the last CVS change log archive is from April 3rd, three months ago. Is 0.3 close to being stable with few problems? Since the published versions of 0.3 on the site are old is everyone using CVS to stay up to date? Not a criticism, just asking how to eventually move to the 0.3 version. My other 2 WRT54G boxes are new (version 3.1) so I'll have to eventually use more current software but I wanted to start with a stable EWRT version first to get my feet wet in the environment. Any other suggestions about resources for EWRT are also welcome. By the way, I chose to start with the EWRT project as my need is for a simple hotspot with a captive portal for registration before use. The WRT54G is much cheaper than a mini PC implementation. Thanks for your responses. I hope to be able to contribute to this forum as my experience with EWRT grows.
