Finally; I´ve found the solution

My old computer with a 90 Mhz processor and 32 Mb of memory didn´t work with a WMP54G adapter. It should use just 802.11b (B thecnology not G). It couldn´t associate with my WRT54G AP. G thecnology requires much more requirements of processor than B does. So I´ve decided to buy a 802.11b adapter.
First,I thought about WMP11 adapter from linksys; but when I saw it uses the same bcm43xx driver than WMP54G does then I was very dissapointed; I´ve found this driver from broadcom gives many problems.
That´s why I bought a 802.11b adapter from Belkin and everything works great  . Right now my connection to my WRT54G AP from Linksys is excellent

So don´t confuse; WMP54G (G thecnology can be great for new PCs); but not for old PCs; you should use B thecnology because you can use your WRT54G AP in a mixed mode.
    I don´t know if Linksys´ adapters works; but Belkin´s does :p .
That´s my recommendation for old PCs.

    Thanks.

    Driver from Belkin

    It´s bel6001 driver. I´m working perfectly with it in a w98SE system.
I have had the following version:
    5.145.0708.2003 built in by WinDDK
    Description:Belkin F5D6001 NDIS5.0 miniport driver

Recently I´ve updated to a new one from 9 Jul 2004. It´s 5.170.0709.2004 version and continues working great :D .

    Here is its bel6001.inf file:

As you can see, the Belkin driver originated from Realtek OEM. I came across the Realtek once on another Taiwanese brand's 802.11b USB wireless adapter, which gave a steady connection with Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration

    Doubt

Can anybody explain me why bcm43xx driver from Broadcom gives so many problems in wireless linksys adapters???

Linksys adapters cannot get association with WRT54G AP or gives many problems. I am dissapointed about that. :?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi ! Could you tell me the name of card that you use under win 98. I have big problem with WMP54g. It doesn't see AP ;/ I tested it on Celeron 400 and 64 MB of RAM. Next problem ... I've installed MSI card PC 54G2 and ASUS WL138G in this computer. It didn't see this cards. The same under LINUX ;/.
