My old computer with a 90 Mhz processor and 32 Mb of memory didn´t work with a WMP54G adapter. It should use just 802.11b (B thecnology not G). It couldn´t associate with my WRT54G AP. G thecnology requires much more requirements of processor than B does. So I´ve decided to buy a 802.11b adapter. First,I thought about WMP11 adapter from linksys; but when I saw it uses the same bcm43xx driver than WMP54G does then I was very dissapointed; I´ve found this driver from broadcom gives many problems. That´s why I bought a 802.11b adapter from Belkin and everything works great . Right now my connection to my WRT54G AP from Linksys is excellent  So don´t confuse; WMP54G (G thecnology can be great for new PCs); but not for old PCs; you should use B thecnology because you can use your WRT54G AP in a mixed mode. I don´t know if Linksys´ adapters works; but Belkin´s does . That´s my recommendation for old PCs. Thanks.
