Firewall enabled when disabled

Hello, I don't have Thibor15c installed anymore, but there was a problem with it when I did have it.

I had some problems with some ports not being forwarded and so I disabled WinXP's firewall along with the firewall on my Linksys WRT54GS router. Then I went to GRC's Shields Up website to test my ports and GRC reported that some of my ports were stealthed (blocked by a firewall).

To test to see if it was my computer or the router, I removed the router from the chain and tested my connection again. This time all of my ports were detected but closed, as it should be.

I think Thibor15c is blocking ports even when I tell it not to, as in diabling the firewall.

As I don't have Thibor15c installed anymore, can anyone out there run the same tests with Shields Up to confirm? I am trying out a different firmware, and I don't seem to having the same problems.

did you disable Block WAN requests?

"stealthed" is presumed better than "closed"

    Hello Toxic,

I don't remember clearly, but if it is enabled by default then I probably didn't. That would explain the GRC results perfectly, but I'll have to test again to be sure.

I've got a WRT54GS setup as the main access point and another WRT54GS set up as a client, so the task of starting over is a bit daunting.

I do very much like the philosophy behind the Thibor firmware, to keep things simple and true to the original firmware.
