I have a WRT54GL running v4.71.1, Hyperwrt 2.1b1 + Thibor15c. Is there new firmware available for this router ? If so should I update ? If so where do I find the procedure to do so. Thanks
I guess I'm asking if Tomato has replaced the firmware I an currently running and if there is any reason to change things if all is running well.

Thibor15c was the last that Thibor has released. Tomato has not replaced it, it is compiled by a different Author. it is just an Alternative.

if you want a newer firmware then yes tomato is newer, however is you just need something that works, and you have no issues with Thibor15c then there is no real need to change it.

As they say...... If it aint broke, dont fix it! :)

Somewhere on this site (can't find it now), there's a comparison of the firmwares available. Thibor is rock solid, but if you need some fancier control with graphs and highly configurable QoS, Tomato is also rock solid. If you need very fancy, like multiple SSIDs or the likes, dd-wrt is another alternative.

The question however is "what functionality you need", not "what is newer" by any means.

I don't have solid evidence to support this, but in my case Thibor's PPPoE seems to be a bit more stable than that of Tomato. It's not a huge difference, and I'm using Tomato now.
