Hi everyone. First, let me say my name is Greg. I have a little more knowledge about computers and networking than the average person. I was able to successfully flash my WRT54GS V7.2 with the dd-wrt firmware. I did this because I switched internet providers, and my new router is no where near my home theater setup, and wanted to be able to connect to the internet still. I have a DirectTV reciever and a Sony all in one HT setup; neither of which have built in wi-fi. Now, as I said, I was able to flash the router. When it is hooked up to the laptop via cat5, and the wireless is disabled, the computer sees the router as my SSID and I am able to surf the web with no issues. Now, when I connect it to the DirectTV and HT system, it is saying it can not access the internet. Switched back to the PC, and it was working flawlessly. Also, my ISP is Windstream, and I am using the Sagecom router that they provided. Any input will be appreciated, but please, be patient....I know just enough to cause problems!
