Flashing/Accessing WRT54Gv1.0 after miniPCI removal?

    Hi,

I have successfully transplanted my WRT54Gv1.0 miniPCI Wireless G card to my wife's Compaq Presario 2100. I used the WPC54Gv1.0 (saves as v3.1) driver d/l from Linksys Site (which oddly shows up as WPC54G v2 in the Control Panel) and all is well.

I am now just looking for confirmation from someone knowledgable that it is NOT possible to access (via http://192.168.1.1) the web interface of the hacked router, which I understand can still be used as a Switch (or even a Wired Router?)

    Cheers

    k.

Sorry to bump this, but can any anyone shed any light on this ?
    TIA

Edit: Have succesfully accessed the Router and flashed it with Tofu9 WITHOUT the Wireless Card in it using the Uplink. After that I can access the Web Page at 192.168.1.1 using ports 3 and 4, but no luck and no lights in ports 1 and 2. Wierd, but maybe another issue altogether. Seems like a 1/2 switch now :)

    k.
[EDIT]Either it's a bad power supply (yet to test this theory, but it is a known issue with the working WRT54Gv1.0's) or one or more of the four ports are flaky.
