    @pedro311, congratulations on your great contributions in Tomato, I am testing with your latest builds with the R7000 VPN, and I looked that QOS with the default rules are not working as in the 2017.2 version, any ideas?

    @pedro311 Is there an AIO b12 build for the R7000? I just see the vpn build.

    Thanks!

    Edit: I suppose the better question would be what's not included in the VPN that is in the AIO. Tried searching for an answer but can't find anything definitive. Shibby's tomato site references a builds.png file that cannot be found.

    @pedro311 Thanks for uploading the R7000 AIO build. Besides having certain features the vpn version doesn't, is there a list or chart that identifies what features are in which build? Thanks!

    Hi all. I'm very happy to have found this forum as I have the Kille72 2017.2 firmware on my RTu68 router. I'm a huge fan of the adblocking feature on this firmware. I had the regular shibby 140 build before updating to Kille72's build. Anyway rather then wait for the coin mining filter to be added to the adblocking list, I've added the filter myself along with other filters in which I've discovered on the site I came across called filterlists. I just wanted to share this info with everyone here.

    I'll try to add @tsynik commits with updated led handling, I saw there that (probably) stealth mode should also works in rt-n18u.

    For now I have something like this for my n18u:
    Code:
    for i in 0 3 6 9 14 ; do gpio enable $i ; done
    wl -i eth1 leddc 1

    in custom scripts section, run every 10 minutes.

    Hello everybody!
    I'm currently testing 2017.3b12-pedro- K26ARM USB AIO-64K on two Asus RT-AC68U,
    one connected as PPPoE router, the other one as AP.

    With latest Kille72 build, after more or less one month of great working, PPPoE started to drop connection every few minutes, without connecting anymore. A router reboot solved the problem, but just for a few minutes.
    Unfortunately I haven't saved the log for further debugging.

    As now everything runs fine, but some configurations of 5GHz WiFi.
    I'm not able to get 80MHz 5GHz WiFi working with channel number > 36.
    Anybody else experiencing this?

    Thanks

    Yes, if I choose EU in advanced WIFI settings, on 80MHz I can"t choose channels, only Auto mode, if I leave it on Singapore, works great, and I can choose channel 36 or others.

    This explains the reason and AFAIK nothing to do with Tomato. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels

    I personally use AUSTRALIA instead of Singapore.

    BTW: Even if you use another country in your router to "unlock" some channel configurations it does not mean that your wireless clients can connect using these channels. It might be that your client is not allowed to use certain channels as they were sold or are used in a country that doesn't allow them to use these channels. (this is particularly true for Apple products. I know by experience)

  19. blakey

    blakey New Member Member

    If I use Singapore, all devices can connect using channel 36, in ex. EU mode, only Auto is available at 80MHz. I use different Apple products without issues in "Singapore mode". In Auto mode the selected channel is 149 which doesn't work with all devices what I use that's why I have to use a fix channel.

    @ruggerof: uhm actually I don't agree or better I don't understand.

    I've done the following tests with Asus RT-AC68U, plus a Samsung Galaxy S7.
    I'm from Italy, hence I suppose my Galaxy S7's Wi-Fi is set for EU regulations.

    Settings on the router:
    5GHz Network - Singapore
    I've only available:

    ch36 - lower (works fine)
    ch40 - upper (works fine)
    ch149 - lower: doesn't work (mobile phone doesn't find WiFi)
    ch153 - upper: doesn't work (mobile phone doesn't find WiFi)

    According to the Wikipedia article, ch149/153 should be seen by the client.

    Moreover, on MerlinWRT FW, with EU settings, I may see much more 80MHz channels., even on DD-WRT.

    I believe each device is unique when dealing with 5Ghz radios.

    The best card I have (TP-Link Archer T9E) doesn't see higher 5Ghz channels. It's a known issue across everyone who owns this card.

    I heard Asus PCE-AC68 doesn't have such issue and will connect just fine.

    All other 5Ghz devices I have (four) can connect to higher 5Ghz channels.

    Good evening / night everybody,
    at least from my country.

    Tonight I did some other experiments with 5g 80MHz WiFi,
    IMHO there must be something wrong with Tomato rather than with devices.

    Same results even on a MacBook.

    I'm not a developer, but any suggestion about how to debug (even by command line) are appreciated if could turn to be useful :)

    Most times this is actually a limitation with the different devices.

    I have a Samsung S4 Mini that earlier had Cyanogenmod on it wich could only see up to channel 64, turned out to be a bug in the phone that later was corrected so it could see channels up to 140 (UNII-2 Extended), but it still have no support for UNII-3 Upper (channels 149-161).

    Then there's a lot of devices that only supports UNII-1 Lower (channel 36-48) and UNII-2 Middle (channel 52-64)

    This may not be your case but I thought I'd share my experiences in this matter.

    By the way, I would change region from Singapore to one of the following:
    Botswana, Liberia, Saudi Arabia, Uganda or Samoa.
    Singapore have good power for the 2.4GHz band but not as good for the 5GHz band.
    The above regions have good power for both bands and six 80MHz channels to choose from.

    PPTP keep alive seems to be working fine for me on RT-AC68U. But I'll keep an eye on it for a few more days.

    BTW. and sorry for derailing but I'm a bit disappointed with the DL/UP through PPTP. Looks like max 8Mbps DL (and more like 4Mbps for most of the time) and 7-9 Mbps UL.

    This site: https://restoreprivacy.com/vpn-routers/ says it might be related with CPU speed itself...

    I've flashed 3b12 on my R7000, it appears that the PPPOE connection dies on a daily basis. My ISP (telekom VDSL in Germany) changes my IP daily, so I dont know if that's the triggering event or if something else is wonky. I'll try and dig in logs later this evening.

    Ah right you are, I was looking at the dates and going *hum* not realizing the latest commit was already tagged.

    The setup/teardown time on dnscrypt-proxy is pretty awful; this blocks the WAN from coming up as well as httpd. More of an observation than anything concrete.

    Just wondering, how is testing actually being done to determine if it is a 'stable' release or not?
    Is there any unit testing going on, or is this all based on people who download it, and then respond back if something is wrong?
    If the determination is based on people's feedback, then I assume there really won't be a 'stable' version for months, if not longer, correct?

    Is there a issue / bug tracker anyplace?

    Here are a lot of changes
    The point is that some of these changes are easy to say.
    However, to be sure that something does not work like PPPoe reconect or works or no, you need to check it out.
    Nobody speaks specifically.
    You installed this version, you have erase nvram, that you have connected: after dhcp - apparently long time negotiations, PPPoe, PPTP or L2TP connection and set "Connect Mode - Keep Alive?
    this is professional,
    because now you urge the developer and
    I will get something wrong so everyone will say what a stable version as it is unstable.

    Owners of Netgear routers should be happy.
    R6400 and probable R6300v2 and R6250 new wifi driver works better in 2.4 Ghz band, transfers increased significantly after wifi and the signal is strong

    Hi all excited to find updates to Tomato/Shibby. Thanks very much for all the work you do.

    I'm now running 2017.3b12 on my R.7000 and it seems to be running smoother than Shibby 140 but that could be due to resetting the NVRAM and hand-entering my configuration again... haven't done that in years.

    Question (very minor point): I can't seem to get the online TTB themes working - I am partial to one called "stornur_v1" but it won't apply. Are online themes broken with these builds?

    Thanks again for keeping Tomato going!

    With Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 -2017.3b12-pedro- K26ARM USB AIO-64K,
    on Status -> Overview page, sometimes I discover that my LAN1 connection is shown as 100MB,
    while it's a Gigabit one.

    If I unplug and replug the cable, it is shown as gigabit again.

    cat /var/log/messages doesn't help me in debugging.

    Any hint?

    Yes, I know about that, it's because of upgraded wl driver, unfortunately.

    Its not because of that. Its because javascript code is wrong since i made the modifications to wireless survey.
    It returns data when your press scan but doesnt parse it right.
    wlscandata = [ ['xxx',xxx,-13,13,13,100,'11b/g/n','WPA2-Personal','AES']];
    Btw only driver that has changed is for rt-n18u NOSMP version.

    Today, I found another error on all the Tomato versions of the firmware. For example, select the country for wifi 2,4 Liberia, put in the network section for example 7-channel 40 MHz and save, go to the status section-router and see there that wifi 2.4 does not work on channel 7 and on the first (1 ) and the transmission bandwidth is written 20 MHz.
    I run inSSIDer to check which channel is being used, and the 1-channel is activated - although I did not choose it.
    When you choose Singapore, everything works and shows how it should be.

    Is possible to fix that?

    This is not a bug or error. The broadcom driver ( wl ) checks the CFE for regulatory information, which includes region of manufacture/country code and applies a matching channel/txpower range regardless of what GUI/userspace commands set the variables to. User configured settings which are within said range will be honored and set active by the driver, any outside of it will be silently ignored or set to the closest level that is still within the allowed range depending on which variable is being configured. If you want to gain access to channels/txpower levels outside those allowed for the region of manufacture of your router you will have to edit the CFE ( risky ) to do so.

    SMBv1 is not installed by default in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and Windows Server, version 1709

    [IMG]
    FWIW: I can confirm the network shares would no longer populate on latest win 10 install 1709.
    WINS server from tomato wouldn't refresh win 10 again until I turned SMB 1.0/CIFS Client back on. Now everything working just fine again!;)

    I updated to version 1709, and I think my previous settings carried over. All these three boxes are ticked here.

    Have you done a clean install? I haven't done a clean install since November 2015 Update.

    Flashed 2017.3b13 all is running quite well. I would like to post a long time cosmetic bug.

    The zoom button in the QOS give the same NaN% when you click on it. I think that last time this worked properly was way back in Shibby v132 before multiWAN came into being.

    I have cleared the web catch tried multiple browsers with no affect on the output

    I had a PPPOE disconnect just happen, likely on my ISP changing my IPv4 address, but I can't confirm. My lease time is 1440 minutes, which aligns with the log. I am running 2017.3b13-kille72- K26ARM USB AIO-64K on an R7000.

    Clicking "connect" in the UI forced a reconnect. The line wouldn't reconnect on its own.

    My settings deviated a bit from the defaults, but both the defaults and my deviations experienced a drop. On kille72's 2017.2 release, the IP change was handled elegantly without a drop of internet service. Note that I have to use VLAN7 with my ISP to initiate a PPPoE.

    Hi,
    I've checked my LAN cable, it's fine.

    Moreover, even if supposedly when I shut down the PC connected to LAN1, it goes into power saving mode -> 100MBPs rated speed, once I turn on that PC again, it should show again 1000MBPs.

    PC's ethernet status shows 1Gbps connection, while Tomato interface remains at 100MBPs until I physically deconnect / reconnect the cable.

    UPDATE: Today when I turned on my PC, Tomato indicated again 1GBPs connection.
    Probably I had a defective switch. I'll keep you updated.

    Things are pretty stable on my end. I have the Asus RT68U router. With this 2017.3b13 build I noticed my internet and wifi speeds have increased. I did clear the nvram and rebooted my cable modem and my switch. The character increase for the adblocker blacklist is a great help also. Im so happy my router is running so smooth with this build. Thanks guys for a great forum and firmware build.

    Same here, b13 on Asus RT-AC68U and Netgear R6300V2, PPPoE disconnect and never reconnect, need redial in GUI. I use a cron script to detect internet connection and reconnect automatic:

    PHP:
    #!/bin/sh

    #set -x

    alias elog="logger -t TOW-WATCHDOG -s"

    wanck=0
    CKIPS
    ="114.114.114.114 8.8.8.8 223.5.5.5"

    getArrayLen() {

    i=0

    for ta in $1; do

    i=$((1))

    done

    echo $i
    }

    CKIPSLen=$(getArrayLen "$CKIPS")

    for
    IP in $CKIPS ; do
        if ! /
    bin/ping -c 1 -w 1 -W 1 $IP >/dev/nullthen wanck=$((wanck+1));fi
    done
    if [ $wanck -eq $CKIPSLen -"$(nvram get wan_netmask)" != "255.255.255.255" ]; then
        elog
    "WAN DOWN, try to reconnect..."

    service wan restart
    fi

    Yep, same here
    there is something wrong with the "redial timer" and the "offline" detection on PPPOE, which restart
    a new dial-up.
    A little workaround will also help restarting the connection automaticly :
    enable under Basic->Network->Multiwan "Check connections every" and the time you want for checking the connection .... (2 min) here for me.

    The Log looks like this, if i did a "manual" PPPOE disconnect and set this Timer to 2 minutes :

    Someting curious, with the change of your IP and a PPPOE hang-up all 24h Hours.
    Same provider here. Since German Telecom changed all DSL Lines to "ALL IP" (also carrying VOIP telephone)
    you should not be got a 24h hangup with changing your ip anymore. German Telecom drops this, because VOIP fully functionality 24h a day :). Here (VDSL 40mbit/100mbit)
    Your are sure with that ? Maybe you don't have a stable VDSL subscriber line and you got some "resyncs..." with your DSL Modem from time to time, with results in hang-up your internet connection....

    Here is the fixed scan function for the basic-network.asp
    Looks like you totally removed these functions from lastest.
    Code:
    function scan()
    {
        if (xob) return;

        var unit = wscan.unit;
        var uidx = wl_uidx(unit);

        xob = new XmlHttp();
        xob.onCompleted = function(text, xml) {
            try {
                var i;

                wlscandata = [];
                eval(text);

                for (i = 0; i < wlscandata.length; ++i) {
                    var data = wlscandata[i];
                    var ch = data[4];
                    var mac = data[0];

                    if (!wscan.inuse[ch]) {
                        wscan.inuse[ch] = {
                            count: 0,
                            rssi: -999,
                            ssid: ''
                        };
                    }

                    if (!wscan.seen[mac]) {
                        wscan.seen[mac] = 1;
                        ++wscan.inuse[ch].count;
                    }

                    if (data[4] > wscan.inuse[ch].rssi) {
                        wscan.inuse[ch].rssi = data[2];
                        wscan.inuse[ch].ssid = data[1];
                        wscan.inuse[ch].quality = data[5];
                    }
                }
                var e = E('_wl'+unit+'_channel');
                for (i = 1; i < ghz[uidx].length; ++i) {
                    var s = ghz[uidx][i][1];
                    var u = wscan.inuse[ghz[uidx][i][0]];
                    if (u) s += ' (' + u.count + ' AP' + (u.count == 1 ? '' : 's') + ' / Strongest: "' + escapeHTML(ellipsis(u.ssid, 15)) + '" RSSI: ' + u.rssi + ' dBm Quality: '+u.quality+')';
                    e.options[i].innerHTML = s;
                }
                e.style.width = '400px';

                xob = null;

                if (wscan.tries < 4) {
                    ++wscan.tries;
                    setTimeout(scan, 1000);
                    return;
                }
            }
            catch (x) {
            }
            spin(0, unit);
        }
        xob.onError = function(x) {
            alert('error: ' + x);
            spin(0, unit);
            xob = null;
        }

        spin(1, unit);
        xob.post('update.cgi', 'exec=wlscan&arg0='+unit);
    }

    function scanButton(u)
    {
        if (xob) return;
        wscan = {
            unit: u,
            seen: [],
            inuse: [],
            tries: 0
        };
        scan();
    }

    That function was MIA because of earlier commit on which I removed (doubled) js functions on basic-network, but one too many :p

    Of course, I'll add your updated version ;) thanks!

    PS. I'm working right now on something else, that's why didn't answer quicker and looked at this scan function.

    Interesting, here everything's fine...

    Fair question! It seems the issues only started for me after moving to b12 and b13, however. 2017.2 was working a-ok with the IP change. For reference, I am using a Draytek Vigor 130 modem, with the WAN port of my Tomato Router tagged on VLAN7. Don't get me started on the Fritz boxes (and let's not discuss it here and go way off topic!).

    I've set the WAN check to 1 minute in the basic network settings, so far things have been stable and redials are occurring. The disconnect seems to be timed, currently, while I am in bed.

    I'm using Asus RT-AC68R/U, installed 2017.3b13, and restored config (erase all data in NVRAM)

    In >Basic >Network >Wireless,
    on Channel, select Scan,
    it doesn't scan the channel like it used to.

    I wonder if this is a known issue. Thank you

    I added a iframe inside the status-log.asp, so that i can see last 25 log without need to click in again.
    can it be added to future release?

    Code:
    <div class='section'>
    <iframe frameborder=0 height=550 width=755 src="logs/view.cgi?which=25&amp;_http_id=<% nv(http_id) %>"></iframe>
            <br> <br>
    <a href="logs/view.cgi?which=50&amp;_http_id=<% nv(http_id) %>">View Last 50 Lines</a><br />
    <a href="logs/view.cgi?which=100&amp;_http_id=<% nv(http_id) %>">View Last 100 Lines</a><br />
    <a href="logs/view.cgi?which=all&amp;_http_id=<% nv(http_id) %>">View All</a><br /><br />

    Forgive me if this a known issue. QOS - Details does not show any connections except IGMP, source 224.0.0.0 destination 0.0.0.0

    I'm browsing the web and the QOS graphs show numerous connections. ( details are not showing up in the categories either, same as they are not in QOS - Details )

    Netgear 7000
    Fresh flash of .b13
    NVram thorough erased
    QOS enabled
    No filters enabled
