My goal is to try to use FreedomPop, the new free WiMax ISP, with a normal router. I’m wondering whether the CLEAR Stick Atlas / FreedomPop Freedom Stick – Bolt / NetZero4G STICK / PXU1960 USB dongle can be used with a router that has Tomato by Shibby firmware. The unit's user guide can be downloaded here, http://www.clear.com/cms/files/2613/3487/4162/CLEAR_Stick_Atlas_QuickStartGuide.pdf . On page 13 it states, "Computer or device must include a standard USB port and support for Remote Network Driver Interface Specification (RNDIS) or Communication Device Class (CDC) devices." I want to use this USB dongle in conjunction with a router that has Ethernet ports. Unfortunately, the CLEAR Spot Voyager / Freedom Spot - Photon / NetZero4G HOTSPOT / IFM-910CW doesn't feature LAN ports. Maybe a TP-LINK 3G/4G router might do the trick, http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/?categoryid=202 .
