    Hi,

    I have a WRT54GL with recent DD-WRT running.

    I wanna try/move to Open-WRT.

Can I just flash over the DD-WRT via the router-interface ?
    Anything else I should know, any don't do's ?

    Thanks you in advance

I went this exact same progression with a WRT54Gv4 (similar if not exact to the GL) as well as a WRT54GSv3. This was last January and I used tftp in the boot_wait window as described in the HowTos.

I read success with simple BIN file uploading - right next to the ones that bricked their router. Exact circumstances are so hard to gauge I suggest reading as much as I can.

I'm sold on OpenWRT as the leanest and fastest available - but acknowledge the Linux environment as the obvious barrier.

    Good Luck!
