    hello,

i've tried to use a port other than 21 for my ftp server, and it's bugging: people can connect but can't do anything else (tried pasv and not)

if i set back to port 21 on the router (and so on my ftp software) everything work.

    someone have the same prob?

If you can ping you pc form internet on the port 21, it must work !!

But have you also unlock the prot windows firewall ??

I use filezilla ftp server and it works fine in passive mode

like i was saying it works fine if i set it to port 21.

But i do prefer settings another port (for security reason), let says 1900 for exemple: so i open this port on the router, and i set filezilla server to use this port as well.
In that case, people seems to have some trouble. they can connect but can't do anything else (no upload, no download, no list subdir)

Like your are using same software for the server part as i, can u try to set another port and tell me if you encouter the same issue?

    thanks.

May be the problem comes from the ftp client that doesn't correctly handle other port than 21

don't think so because i asked one of the users to try different clients to test and it does the same result.
