Full telnet client?

Is there a telnet client binary available for Tomato? I haven't found it in optware or other online package lists. I frequently use telnet to determine if a service is up/available for network diagnostics.

I know busybox has a telnet client, but it silently connects to TCP ports, making it difficult to tell if the connection succeeded or is hanging.

    Full Telnet:
    Code:
    telnet 10.1.2.10 80
    Trying 10.1.2.10...
    Connected to 10.1.2.10.
    Escape character is '^]'.
    Busybox Telnet:
    Code:
    telnet 10.1.2.10 80
The "Connected to" line is the indication that the TCP connection succeeded.. the host is up, its firewall allows access to that port, and a service is running. In the busybox version, nothing is shown and the behavior for a non-existant or stealth firewalled host looks the same as an host that's up.

I'm surprised that more people have not requested this, or that busybox didn't add the connection banner, because this is a very common debugging tool/technique.

See if optware has inetutils - if so, the telnet client should be in there.

Thanks, Rodney. inetutils is in optware. It includes the telnet client, and works great.
