IPX SPX........A thing of the past. I have a game called dune 2000 that uses IPX SPX protocols. The game can be played on the lan or on a online server. The server that hosts the game online, no longer exists. The settings in the game have always pointed to the manufaturer's server and the server software is not available to the public(as far as I know that is). That leaves us to lan play only. About 5 years ago, I was playing this game on a lan with a friend of mine, in my house. At one point in the game, someone actually hacked into my lan (wasnt locked down anyways in those days) and joind our game. I asked the hacker to leave the game and he wouldn't so I pulled the plug on the internet. I would like to know how that guy got in and joined our game which was communicating by ipx spx. The reason being that we can no longer play on the internet and would like to continue gameplay with eachother, but from our homes. I have tried everything. I have tried vpn and the comunication was perfect as far as netbios and tcpip but I cant seem to figure out how to make the ipx spx work through the vpn connection. I cant find any info on how to do this and would really appreciate a fix for this.
