ok many many months ago i bought a WRT54G and a wmp54g, and there they sat colecting dust. i have 2 pcs. then my father gave me a lap top, says the screen was to small for him to read. (thank you dad).along with the laptop came a belkin notebook card. well the WRT54G and the belkin worked fine for a long time. then i wanted to take 1 of my pcs and make it wirerless, so i installed the wmp54g into the pc. the WRT54G and the wmp54g worked great. but know i want the laptop to go back to wierless.i cant get it to work. what did i do wrong?
    any help would be great.

your WRT54G isnt going to limit your wireless to 1 PC at a time so were going to need a little more info about the laptop, Are you seeing the wireless network and just not able to connect? maybe receiving limited or no connectivity? not seeing the wireless connection at all?

ok when i use the belkin utility i see on the monitor 1 listing for the linksys. i high light it and click connect. nothing happens. when i change setting from letting the belkin utility to windows xp utility then i get a message saying "wirerless net work in range". BUT i then get a message asking for a network key.wep key or wpa key. what is this and where can i find it?

Its going to be the "key" that is needed to access the network. Log into your router, there should be a tab or link to "wireless" settings. On that page i believe it shows you what your key is. If not you can at least change it to whatever you like and then make sure you write it down somewhere so you have it available for network access anytime a new wireless client comes around. If you need help logging into the router let us know and will give you direction on that as well.
