I just recently installed latest Toastman Tomato FW on my RT-N16 but my HP external USB drive will not spin down.
I have enabled this option and rebooted the router. Is there anything else I have to do to get it working?

    Thanks

    - Which fw do you use, version and File System ?
    - Are your hdd powered from RT-N16 or external?
    - No need to reboot when applying that option, just hit "save".
    - Have you checked "USB Storage Support" ?
    - USB 1.1 or 2.0 Support clicked in ?

    Thanks for the reply!
    FW version K26USB-1.28.7493MIPSR2-Toastman-RT-Ext
    External powerd HD
    NTSF file system
    USB 2.0 support enabled
I did apply save but it did not work so I rebooted as well.
HD works great it just refuses to spin down

Hmmm, thanks for trying to help
I did try to let it spin down for way over one hour so looks like the drivr is not compatible.
It is older HP media drive the one you can slide inside HP PC. Inside the enclosure is IDE 3.5" Seagate 400GB drive

What will actually trigger the hd to spinup, only access to the drive or any network activity?
I noticed that this morning the hd did not spin but then it was on for tbe rest of the day.
Nobody tried to access it the whole day.
