I can't believe how hard it was to register on this forum. First the CAPTCHA was one of the hardest I've ever seen. I had to refresh it about 15 times before I was able to actually read it. Second, it wouldn't allow to use a yahoo email address, which is crazy being that it is the most popular email system in the world now. Then I had to use a different email address and go through the CAPTCH 15 more times. I just wonder how many people eventually give up and never join the forums because of that.

your the only one to complain:)

yahoo email treats our activation emails as spam. why I do not know. so for the problem to be fix yahoo has to sort this out. I have asked them to sort it but they have never replied.

Any forum in the world have their own rules...You just have to comply to these rules.

PS: I'm member of computers, networking and satellite reception an I can confirm that linksysinfo.org it's one of the lax one to enforce smth.

That's just hilarious... Are you new to the internet? There are millions of forums which have stricter registration rules than Linksysinfo.org. I used to run a forum for a gaming community. In order to become a member and post the applicant had to jump through more hoops than an dog in a circus show. Only ISP assigned email addresses were allowed and nobody ever complained.

That's actually rather funny if you think about it!

Toxic: That's a great pity about Yahoo. I've used Yahoo for many years, it still works fine whereas all my other ISP and "free" mail accounts have turned to poop

What's so funny about it? Asking people to use their real email addresses? That with email verification kept people from registering multiple accounts. People that joined the forums were mature enough to handle the rules and not whine about it since they had nothing to hide. I am no longer associated with the website since retiring from gaming over a year ago but it's still up and running to this day with new admins.

    Mastec, see it this way.

You wouldn't let people use their email, but then say that you didn't receive any complaints :)

And what is a "real" email account? Are you saying that Yahoo and Hotmail are not "real" accounts? There are tens of millions of people who have these accounts because they work.

In my country, most ISP's do not provide email accounts and do not have email servers. Thise that do are mostly incapable of maintaining them in a functional state.

I gotta agree that the image verification was harder on this site. Took alot of refreshing. But wasn't any different that any other forum registrations besides that.

A real email address is an email that works! i have over 200 created accounts a month that are not activated due to either users not giving correct details or these are from spambots. An email address is part of the registration process. if you cannot follow the simple rules of this site then dont register.
