I have a BEFSR41 router, and wish to share a printer. The only way I can, is to let down all of my Window Firewalls. Can I buy a separate hardware firewall for my router or can anyone tell me how I can share the printer without letting down my firewalls. Thanks Pete Devlin.

setting up a small LPR server and port forward from the server to an external port with static source IP, so no one else could connect to it.
simplest solution... in case of breach all they could do is print gobs of data in your printer

Im no windows expert but you should beable to allow file and print sharing without having to turn off the firewall. Better yet just get a printserver, there pretty cheap now adays then you dont have to worry about your machines.
