Has the automatic wireless channel been working for u? Is it good?
I commented only today, after my first use of it, that it placed my AP on channel 1, which already had 3 strong AP's on it. It did not use channel 11, for example, which had only one weak AP. Anyone else?
It does seem to favor channel 1 every time... Channel 3 here has no APs and has historically been the strongest to use in my house...
I use channel 13, it's always been my lucky number, especially on fridays (no, i am not kidding you).
I'm prolly gonna test Victek's mod on the next test build.
It has selected Channel 1, which is the best channel for my location.
Let's say it has chosen a channel. When will it choose another channel again?
Btw I find that this feature is very unstable.
For example, I use this for my 2 routers connected via WDS. Although in the beginning they settled on a channel, after a while it wasn't connected anymore.
I find it fairly useless. It placed my router on channel 6, which already has 5-6 other AP's on it. I normally use channel 10 with no problems.
Strongly recommended to fix a channel when you play WDS ... the association is made by MAC .. but the radio noise could be different on each place, so, I expect problem for sure. Mine is mainly at channel one but if I switch ON another router closer then shifts to channel 6 and 11 .. I think it follows ETSI recommendation ..
Seems to be working fine here. Mostly changes between 1 and 11. I have not seen it switch to 6 yet.
Brillant idea, makes it easy to setup
In my block there is 5 ap in one channel..
I was one of them now I'm tomato
