Wow, I was recently introduced to 3rd party firmware for my
wrt54gs (v2), and when all was said and done, now i have a
    serial port and micro-sd mod running: DD-WRT v23 SP3 (05/29/07) std

I was told I could watch the router boot with the serial cable (and if i
mucked it up, i wouldn't have to take it apart and use the jtag cable.

so, only computer that attaches physically to the router is running windows
how would I configure a connection through hyperterminal to "see it boot"?
(i know i have to use com1, turn hardware flow controll off, speed: 9600)

If I have been mislead, can anyone please point me in the direction
of some other threads which could tell me what i can do with this serial port?
i need to be pointed in the right direction i guess...

    any help is much appreciated
