    Hi Everyone,

I need help. Does anyone know how to get a Apple Powerbook linked up to my router and enter the wireless security info into the Powerbook. My daughter's Powerbook accesses the network fine until I try to enable the wireless security. No matter what type of encryption I try to use I cant seem to get her connected. As soon as I disable the encryption then she's back in just fine.

I have tried using a passphrase, WEP, WPA ....everything I can think of but cant find the magic combination.

Encryption has to be setup on the Router AND your Powerbook. you are doing this? right?

The same encryption type needs to be supported by both router and client, and Passphrase doesn't always work on wireless equipment of different brands. Does your PowerBook support WPA?

AFAIK, older Apple PowerBooks support ASCII WEP keys by default while Linksys supports HEX keys, you may need to force your Apple to use the HEX key from your Linksys router manually by adding $ in front of the key when inputting on the PowerBook.
