Like I mentioned in my previous post

the upgrade to version 2044 failed. No problem I thought, just install 2027 and things should be fine. However, I cannot get to my router anymore. It responds to pings, but opening the webmin interface simply times out.

I also notice that the power led is blinking steadily at approx. 2 times per second, perhaps this indicates a problem?

Can anyone help me get control back over my router?

Restoring to previous firmware ok but router still dead

Linksys Support advises me to go back to the store and change the router

    This is what happened.

I apparently upgraded to a US version of the firmware, not suitable for EU devices. Another case of RTFM? Anyway, I downloaded the 2027 (EU) version and managed to install this version with tftp. (had a few problems, sometimes the upgrade stopped at 95% with the message that the transfer was cancelled). Several retries (also put my network card in 10baseT half duplex) and it worked.

I keep having the blinking power led however. Resetting, powercyclying, nothing works so I called support. They mentioned that nothing can be done and I should change the box... Weird and very annoying.

Note that I can ping the device, but the webinterface is not accesible.

    It works

Well... finally got it working. Retried several times and suddenly it worked. Steady power led :p

The only thing I did different was that I renamed the image to 'code.bin', I guess this is necessary.... <g>

I noticed that it only works once in a while when i plug into connector 4, but this may also be just superstition. I don't like random behaviour in devices!
