Okay I have a linksys WRT54G router and adelphia HSI as my ISP. Ive also got a terayon TJ715x cable modem. I have spent 2 weeks trying to get this router to work. And once in a blue moon it will. Then it will stop. My problem is it recongizes everything except a DNS. When hooked up to xbox I can get an IP configured, and then it says DNS not resolved. When I go to ipconfig/all it shows my DNS as instead of what it should be. Please help!!! Yes I have it set to automatic DHCP in the control thing on IE, yes set to obtain automatic in the other stuff, yes I plug in the modem wait 30seconds then plug in the router. I dunno whats wrong

    DNs > DHCP

using DHCP will change your IP address once the lease is expired, therefore any DNS/host information relating to names of your computers would be out of date.

for the internal configuration I would stick to static IPs, and host files (if your dont have too many Pcs) The external IP of your dsl box may change depending on the ISP, if you ask and get a static IP from them, then you will be able to get external DNS setup.

    hope this helps
