I just got this router (WRT54G) and hooked it up to my cable modem. Hooked up an e-machines brand new new computer (by the WMP54G wireless G PCI adapter) and my iMac G5 and all worked great as far as sharing my internet connection. I then got a wireless adaptor for my XBOX and tried to hook that up. It appears that all of the setting are correct, but the XBOX will not connect to my wireless network, and the light on the far left side of my router is on constantly white now, where it was a yellow or gold color before. Also, on my e-machines computer the monitor of the connection says that I am connected to the access point but the internet cannot be found, however I can get on the internet with that computer with no problem. Can anyone help me?

you need to set up the game adapter while connected to a PC. Try giving it a static address vaild to the network its connected to.

i have my xbox hooked up wirelessly, but caught hell trying to make the linksys game adapter work. it is basically just a client that converts the wireless signal into a wired one, but is a real pain to set up. I tried getting help from the linksys tech support but by the time i followed what they said to do, my entire network was offline. I got rid of it and got the microsoft xbox adapter. It has an easy setup through the xbox dashboard that i was able to set up in less than 5 minutes.

just be sure to have your wep/wpa key written down or add the MAC address for it to your router, depending on what type of security you use.

    Good luck to ya
