    Hi, i have a problem..
when ive plugged my WRT54G to my broadband router. my wrt gets its own ip. for the internet 80.xxx.xx.xx. That ip never changes ive tried releasing DHCP and renewing, but it keeps taking the same ip.

But when i connect my pc directly to the BROADBAND router, i get a different ip every time.. but when the wrt is connected, it still keeps using the same ip.

How can i change this ip? I dont want the same ip every time.

unplug the modem and router from the power, plug in the modem wait until it goes online and then plug in the router, if it doesn't give you a new ip address try cloning your pc's mac address on the router and it should give you a different ip.

I dont understand why you would not want the same ip all the time. But if you need to have it change for reasons unbeknowst to us, then by all mean tell the router to use a different mac and you will be assured to get a different ip. Your isp is keeping your routers mac in its dhcp table, so when unplug and replug you will get the same ip until that mac times out. This is to insure they will not run out of ips by devices that get rebooted or turned off and on regularly.
