A week or two ago I decided to update the stock firmware with dd-wrt firmware on my Linksys WRT54G ver 5.1. Because some issues with PPPoE connection I try to downgrade to a earlier version of dd-wrt. This think transform my router into an expensive brick :) : Power led blinking and 4 lan and 1 lan leds are ON
I try shorting the 15 and 16 pins on nvram, starting the device with 16 pin grounded and nothing help me.
If I starting up the device with 16 pin grounded, I receive ping response but power led still blinking.
I've try to upload a new bin firmware with tftp tool from Linksys, it worked well but device wont go into the reset procedure after receiving the new firmware.
Any ideas? or my last chance is JTAG?

You know I toniced that it taks up to a minute for the router to reboot after tftp says DONE

Did you leave it ON after tftp was finished to see what happens - I know its funny but I am not very patient myself and if I didnt read this somewhere I was ready to unplug power before it got a chance to reboot, and then it will never boot because I think the delay is really the CFE relocating the firmware image into flash...

Before I try this variant (grounded 16 pin) I read a lot of forum post and I know that procedure takes a few minutes and I just let the router to boot up for a few minutes.
I'm still be able to update a new firmware via tftp but after success update the file nothing happens (no ping replay anymore and the power led still blinking), I just wait more then 30 minutes and no changes. Now I think that I should try debrick it with jtag cable but I have some thinks that I don't know : from where should I download a good CFE, NVRAM files for my WRT54G ver 5.1?

I've heard about using this proceedure fo the wrt and have read about it's success, however, I've also heard about using the same proceedure with a wap54g, which is my new brick. However, when I get to the step where I use TFTP from linksys it says that i'm using an invalid image. Does that mean that the upgrade firmware tool for linksys isn't used for the wap54g and only the wrt?
