Help! My WRT54G sees only "light" web sites like

Hello, would anyone know why I can only see very "light" web sites (meaning not a lot of graphics or text) with my WRT54G?

I've tried everything, re-flashed the firmware, even bought a second WRT54G... same thing!

Here's my setup; Verizon DSL, I plug the WRT54G directly into the DSL modem. Setting the main setup page for PPPoE with my Verizon username & password. Status tells me I'm connected fine, and in fact it is... at least, I can see Google. But www.yahoo.com, just about any other web site (www.abcnews.com, whatever), nothing works!

This is the same whether connecting directly to one of the ports on the back of the WAP, or going through the wireless.

I have a Linksys BEFSR41 (non-wireless) cable/dsl router that I can use just fine, so I know everything else works fine (pc, internet line, etc).

I'm running a brand new PC with WinXP and Service Pack 2... SP2 installs a firewall, so I thought maybe that was the problem, but I tried shutting it off and it didn't make any difference at all.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Ive had this exact same problem, and the only solution was to downgrade the firmware. That solved all my issues.

    Hello.

Did you try to change your MTU ?

    Regards.

Hello, sorry for the delay in getting back, I saw your messages right away... I believe the "MTU" is the issue, researched that and found notes saying to "set MTU to 1492", but couldn't find a place to do that, then realized you have to set MTU to "Manual" first, then you get the pop-up box to enter the 1492.

Also, as an interesting side note, if I plugged my WRT54G into one of the ports on an older BEFSR411 (which I think I had mentioned I could use just fine), then the WRT54G also worked just fine. Go figure.

Apparently this is a bug in v2.04 of the WRT54G firmware, hopefully they'll have it fixed by v2.05.

Thanks again to all who responded, I really appreciate the help.
