For whatever reason turning on the QOS service literally halves my internet speed coming into the house. I can reproduce this on a dime, every time I tick/untick the QOS box in the router setup. Obviously this won't work, and the latest 117 version of Shibby gives me horrible speeds no matter what I change in advanced wifi setup, it's not an option - for me V108 is the sweet-spot for this router. So I've decided to use the bandwidth limiter option to have an a la carte approach to how my bandwidth is used and prioritized. I like this approach better the more I think about it, as it can intelligently throttle other active bandwidth using tasks if one with higher priority is activated. Here's my setup: Asus RT-N66U Firmware: tomato-K26USB-1.28.RT-N5x-MIPSR2-108-AIO-64K.trx Devices Attached (in terms of importance to my usage top to bottom): Drobo5N (Cat6) - streaming media, large mkv (15GB) files, music, home videos HP MediaSmart Home Server (Cat6) - streaming media, large mkv (15GB) files, music, home videos WDTV Live SMP (Cat6) - plays/encodes content from Drobo5N Xbox One (Cat6) - I do a fair amount of online gaming Smart TV (Cat6 via Asus gigabit switch) - Netflix, Amazon Prime, M-Go, Vudu etc 2nd WDTV Live Plus (Cat6 via bridged gigabit Netgear Router) - accesses Drobo and Mediasmart Xbox 360 (Cat6 via bridged gigabit Netgear Router) - online gaming Various downloads Appreciate any help on getting this setup optimally. Thanks.
