I got a asus rt-16 with latest tomato usb mod .ext version and I'm confused on how to get bandwidth to save to my usb. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
1) Mount the USB enabling all 3 these options under USB and NAS: Core USB Support USB 2.0 Support USB 1.1 Support OHCI UHCI at the bottom of the page verify the mounting location (mine is /tmp/mnt/PATRIOT) and that automount is set to YES. 2) Go into Administration/bandwidth monitoring Save history location: Custom - /tmp/mnt/PATRIOT HTH
Thank you. Edit: I get "The rstats program is not responding or is busy. Try reloading after a few seconds." When I try to check the logs.
I suggest you create a new log file selecting: Create New File (Reset Data) Also make sure the USB location you're using is writable. Regard
ssh into the router and run Code: ls -la /tmp/mnt if not or even if unsure it should be safe to run Code: chmod -R 777 /tmp/mnt/
Hi. I upgraded from 498 to the current version v1.28.0508 MIPSR2Toastman-RT-N K26 USB VLAN-VPN. In the process I lost my ability to save the cstats to an external USB stick as --> /tmp/mnt/Lexar/ASUSRouter/ Whenever I select "custom" and enter the above, the menu goes grey and it unchecks the box. Then there are no stats saved. However, if I select the "RAM" option, the internet stats work fine, menu stays OK and item stays checked. I've rebooted, powered off, reflashed and done everything short of w NVRAM wipe. I'm trying not to do that as I have 100+ DNS entries, bunches of wireless MACs setup, which I will lose. I did the same upgrade on another router and it worked fine. It did not lose anything and I do not have a problem. This is my main router and I'd really not like to lose all the setup. Thanks!
OK so I fully wiped the RT-66U with no USB key etc... flashed the 1.28.0508 FW, reset to factory defaults, stabilized, repeated and then proceeded to recreate my setup by hand. Sadly, the behavior remains the same. When I try to save the cstats to the USB drive, it barfs and refuses to accept the "Custom setting" (unchecks the box etc..) Administration -> IP Traffic Monitoring -> Enable --> Save History Location -> Custom /tmp/mnt/Lexar/cstats/ (must have trailing backslash, check that...it says). I get no files. However when I do the same setup for the "Bandwidth Monitoring" -> Enable -> Save History Location -> Custom -> /tmp/mnt/Lexar/rstats/ it works just fine.. the files show up immediately in the subdir. Any ideas? Thanks!
I figured out what this is...when selecting "Enable Auto-Discover" on the IP Monitoring Setup, this kills the feature when trying to use "Custom" paths. When I select that, it fills in a bunch of IPs (ones I may have defined in DHCP setup) and that may be creating some sort of buffer or space overrun. I have at least 50 - 7 static MAC --> IP mapping setup in the DNS on this main router. See screen caps I'm also seeing an error surface on the "Access Restriction" section reading as "iptables-restore v1.3.8: invalid port/service -m specified. Error occurred at line 113 Try 'iptables-restore -h' or 'iptables-restore --help' for more information. (See screen cap) This is in version v1.28.0508 MIPSR2Toastman-RT-N K26 USB VLAN-VPN This was not happening in the same but older 0498 version which I upgraded from. This is a bug in the current Toastman Tomato build. I do not believe there is enough space left to handle a larger number of IPs to monitor. In my case I have 50+ devices defined which are added "automatically" if I check that box. Thank You.
