Help securing a WRT54GS router

I just upgraded my trusty old BEFW11S4 to a WRT54GS v no.CGN6. I have 5 computers hooked up to it plus a DSL line in my home/office. One CPU is a Dell tower, the rest are a combination of Dell and VAIO laptops. Only the tower is connected via wire.

I live in a building in NYC where everyone seems to have wireless, and although I trust my neighbors, I would like to secure my network. The Cisco one button encryption on the WRT doesn't work with my wireless CPUs since they are not compatible (I believe but I could be wrong.) So - how do I make this infrastructure network inpenetrable without causing a problem for the rest of the family who is not as computer savvy as I (which is not saying much.)

    Thank you in advance. :(
