    [Done] upgraded my 54GL with a wrong firmware ...

    Sorry about disturbing....
    After googling, I found out the only way to save my router seems to be JTAG.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

    First of all, I have realized that I have done a stupid thing completely... :frown:

    So, what I did is I upgraded my WRT54GL 1.1 with the No-USB Std. build 48 Kernel 2.6 (experimental) for MIPSR"2" from tomatousb.org, and then everything screwed up.

    Now, the power light is blinking, and the router cannot even give my PC an IP, so I manually set an IP, and
    1. try to ping 192.168.1.1 --> no response
    2. using tftp tool to send a firmware --> no response
    3. 30/30/30 hard reset --> doesn't change anything ...

    So, my question is ...
    Is my router a complete brick now? or I can try to do something more?

    Sorry if my English is unclear.

    If your bootloader is not corrupted, you do not need to jtag. An old cell phone cable or better a serial-ttl 3.3v cable. I've flashed the wrong firmware many times, even did partial flashes on purpose and never needed jtag. Serial-ttl has never failed me. As a sidenote, if you google around, you'll see pin-shorting as a method, but you should avoid it... good luck..
