    Dear Forum Members

First, my english is not very good, so i hope u understand it

I have a linksys WRT54G v2.2, I have tried to upgrade the firmware with the version from DD-WRT

I have used the follow firmware:
dd-wrt.v23_mini_wrt54g.bin but that is the wrong one.

The guide tell's to use the follow firmware:
    dd-wrt.v23_mini_generic.bin

I can't acces the router from the web (with internet eplorer, 192.168.1.1).

I need to get the dd-wrt.v23_mini_generic.bin firmware on the router, but i don't know how. THe router works fine but i can't edit anything. I can ping the router, and can connect with telnet to it.

Is there someone who can help me with solving this problem?

    Kind regards

meokey, read what the man wrote. You're given link is all about web-page-upgrade related.

I am new to DD-WRT, just changed my WRT54G v4 to it yesterday. I used the generic.bin file and experienced the same thing. I can only ping but cannot open the webpage. I had to do a hard reset of the router once before the web starts to run.

I have no experience on what if you have done a web based update with the wrong .bin file. But I'm sure that if you can ping the router, and can telnet, it's not bricked.

I found someone who have mentioned that using the WRT54G.bin file worked for him on the web based upgrade (see the link)

Maybe all you need to do is just like what it was for me, do a hard reset of the router.
    1. power it off
    2. press the reset button on the back and hold
    3. power on the router
    4. hold for 30s and let go the reset button

I haven't tried this in your situation, so I don't know if this may be the right solution for you. It can either solve your problem or make it worse.

    Good Luck!
