Help with Start Up Disc for WRT54G Wireless-G Router

I recently purchased a Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Router. I took it home and first, before anything else, inserted the Start Up Wizard Disc. As soon as I put the disc in, an error message appeared stating "Setup Wizard MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I have not plugged in any cables. I am running Windows XP SP 2. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

A quick search on the linksys site didn't help much. My reply here probably won't be much help either, but here goes...
Contrary to what all of the packaging and stickers say, running the CD first is not required. I think they just want you to use it to eliminate unnecessary calls to their tech support. But guess what? Their CD wouldn't install, so you're going to call them anyways! :)
From what I can tell, all the CD will do is give you a step by step instruction with pictures of when and how to plug everything in. There might be some other goodies on the disc, but I'm not entirely sure. So please don't hold me accountable if you miss something by not installing the disc.
I can say from experience that my linksys install CD is still nicely sealed and has never seen the light of day... and my router hasn't blown up yet.
If you explore the CD, you should find a folder called "Doc" wherein you will find a PDF file that has screenshots of the setup wizard. If you don't feel like calling someone, give the PDF file a try and do it that way. If all else fails, you can call linksys.
    Good luck.

Just plug the router in and open your browser window and type in the adresse bar and that will take you to the rouer setup.
