I am having a hard time being able to use windows media connect via xbox 360 using this setup http://www.linksysinfo.org/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=7 I am able to access the internet and xbox live just fine it is just that I cannot stream data from my PC to my xbox 360. If I use a cable and go directly to my primary router everything works fine but if I try it wireless with the 360 plugged into my second router I can connect to the computer. I think there must be some kind of security setting I need to adjust on the routers. Please Help.Thank you.
I'm having the same problem. I have two WRT54GS routers bridging two wired networks. I can connect to Xbox Live, but I can't stream anything using Windows Media Connect. Anyone have any ideas?
I connected my 2 routers wirelessly (wrt54gs v2.1 - host and wrt54g v4 as birdge/repeater). You have to use dd-wrt v23. I use dd-wrt v23 beta 2 mini for the wrt54g v4 and dd-wrt v23 standard for my wrt54gs v3. It works great. In the beginning I use WEP it works great, but now I use WPA2. You should use WPA for better wireless security. I don't have XBOX 360, so I never tried with XBOX but with computer in the 2nd router by wired or wirelessly, it works. To configure the routers you can follow the setup configuration at: http://www.linksysinfo.org/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=7 Read dd-wrt installation guide (the wiki) at http://wrt-wiki.bsr-clan.de/index.php?title=Main_Page To download www.dd-wrt.com Note: If your XBOX is still not working, you can read the article by Shah below, I red it but never tried with my routers, it seems to complicated. http://www.linksysinfo.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2564&highlight= Good luck
